I also ignored all of the finishing blow opportunities after my first attempt was dodged and I got hit instead, so this fight became a never-ending poke-fest... at least until I ran out of recovery items and I finally decided to go for the finishing blow, and of course it worked... yeah, I'm not a really bright gamer. orz
